Para was somewhat surprised at the Pokemon's knowledge of human's gestures, but it only made him feel less of a monster. The pokemon wasn't a completely pitiful thing anymore. The two pokemon he had watched the Surskit walk away with a bit of hostility, feeling that if the Pond Skater wanted to do anything more radical, they were going to stop it.
But it continued on, and it soon disappeared into the brush. Para sighed, and deposited his pokedex back into his bag. He went back to his lunch, which he was enjoying peacefully, and finally finished and packed up. They left without another word.
Para was starting to get a little disappointed with the pokemon he was currently running into. When would something with fight in it cross his path? He didn't know, but he was hoping for something better.
A Pidgey, maybe, or a Charmander. Only time would tell...

Lucky you, you found exactly what you wanted though it's pissed at your behavior regarding the Skurskit and approaches you, openly expressing its anger.

It had been about ten minutes since the lunch and it seemed like they had gotten nowhere. Para's feet hurt and Jake began to complain. Para offered a pokeball as an alternative (he was actually pretty jealous of Bandit as it was like he had a free ride), but Jake had refused, wanting to ride it out with his owner. Para felt like complaining himself, but he just didn't feel like it. It didn't get anyone anywhere except annoyed. And annoyance isn't anywhere near their destination. Para decided to give everyone five under a large tree that gave a bunch of shade. He thought it was an oak tree, which led to him to the thoughts of the master-professor Prof. Oak, who he had read about multiple times.
He was about to doze off when he heard Jake give off a bark that sounded angry. He was jerked from sleep (or whatever half-state he was in) and started to look around crazily. He noticed an orange little pokemon in the distance, and squinted to get a clearer view. It was growling, yelping, and expressing open anger, marching their way. Aww, what now!? He quickly pulled out his pokedex, and pointed down the field-like area at the oncoming pokemon. He didn't exactly know how far the Pokedex could scan, but he guessed he would find out.
Charmander, the Lizard Pokemon. The fire on the tip of its tail is a measure of its life. If healthy, its tail burns intensely.
His tail was burning intensely, but he didn't know if it was health or anger that brought it on. Now, Para did have interest in catching this Pokemon, but he wondered how strong it would be. From the looks of it, and from the pokedex, he knew it was fire type, and so Jake wouldn't have much luck taking this guy on. He grabbed Bandit's pokeball and let it fly, hoping to defend himself from the oncoming slaughter that this pokemon could bring.
Alright, Bandit, let's get the party started with Tail Whip! Lower his guard, then we'll see what he does!
Bandit was invigorated and excited by the heat of battle. Annoyance lit deep within his eyes from being commanded, but he didn't seem to go against them. He got down on his forepaws, so his butt was in the air, and began to wave his tail around like a flag. Jake sat patiently, watching this spectacle. Hopefully it would catch the Charmander off guard and he could follow up with a better move.

The Charmander thought the Tail Whip was just outright disgusting and angrily let out an Ember attack, aimed at the purple rat who was simply shaking his butt for nothing.

Rattata gaped wide-eyed as the ember attack came down upon him. The Charmander had closed the distance and was now pretty close, and Rattata had previous experiance with embers. He didn't like them, not one bit. They burned and they singed the fur, which was just trouble. He tried to outrun the ember, but it was too late. Over half of the little flecks of fire caught on this fur and it began to burn the skin. Tears stung the edge of his eyes in pain, and Bandit was not ready to give up. Para wasn't either as he saw with horror that Bandit was struck with the move.
Are you OK Bandit? Let's try Tail Whip again, but try and distance yourself from him, OK?
But Bandit refused to retreat, to lose any ground. He, however, complied with obediance and picked his but back up in the air. His paws were twitching, ready for another ember attack. He waved his butt up in the air and kept it there, ready for the next move. Para was watching with some anticipation of what the Charmander would do. He reached into his bag and felt on a Pokeball. He pulled it out and waited, his hand gripping it tightly.

The Charmander was offended by your Rattata's actions of waiving it's butt in the air. It inhaled a large gulp of air, and then exhaled a fireball - the Ember attack. This Charmander meant business.

Rattata's tail wavered in the air warily, and it watched for any sudden movements that would reveal an ember attack from a Charmander. As soon as he engulfed a bit of air, Rattata was off. He scampered around in a tight circle (probably picked up from Jake's effective tactics), and tried to get behind the Charmander. As soon as he did this, a new order came through. Para was watching this great enthusiasm.
Bandit, use Quick Attack!
And immediatly Bandit shot forward at blinding speed. To Para's surprise, he could see the blur of the Rattata, his quick movement. Jake traced it like it was a simple trick. He shot forward and attempted to ram into the Charmander, ending the battle. Hopefully Para would be able to catch it after this next attack.

The Ember attack was released, and impacted empty space. The Charmander was confused, and then it was too late. The Quick Attack impacted against the Fire Lizard's back, sending it sprawling forward onto the ground. The flame on it's tail flickered low.
Capturable.

YES! The impact hit the Charmander square on it's back and it flew to the ground. PITY Bandit seemed to get ready for the next move but Para wanted to end it there. Jake at his heels, he ran forward, pokeball in his hand. The grass touched at his ankles, and he still ran forward without hesitation. When he was ten yards out, he threw his pokeball at the fallen Pokemon. It impacted perfectly and the red light sucked it in. The Pokeball wiggled, and it was time to wait.
Everyone was on edge. Bandit was eager but confused, Jake was wary but excited, and Para was nervous. Would he be able to catch this thing, or will it break the pokeball?
He didn't know. All he could do was wait.
And pray.

The pokeball stopped wrigling, and Para felt instantaneous joy. He had caught it! He was really doing it, he was really becoming a trainer. Within twelve hours, the duo had expanded to a quartet. He was ready for anything, so it seemed, and the day wasn't even finished. He went over to pick up the ball. It felt hot, but he didn't want to drop it and possibly damage Charmander inside.
I think I'll name you, Mercury! Good name, huh? And awesome job, Bandit, you make me proud.
Bandit seemed to blush and say "Oh...you know, I was just fightin' with my moves." Bandit then moved closer to his heels in some new-found admiration, and looked at his ex-enemy, now ally. Para depressed the ball, and Charmander came popping out. He stretched uncomfortably and looked at his new team. He approached Bandit, and Jake and Para both thought a fight was about to come about. But Mercury seemed to offer a hand in peace, of good sportsmanship, and Bandit returned it. It was so nice to see them kids playing together.
With this in mind, they could beat anything.

Level 7
A girl could be seen rushing at you from the distance. She would approach with one of her two pokemon released. The Pidgey would be chillin' by her side as she approached.
"Hey there!"

Hey there!
The words would fly into the air like electric shocks, completely taking Para and his trio by surprise. He whipped around, quite comical under different circumstances, and looked at the owner of the voice. It was a small girl, no older than ten, and he wondered how she became a trainer without her parents throwing a fit. She must of not had a great parent-esque life either. Right next to her was a Pidgey, it was obvious she was a trainer. He had never seen that kind of Pokemon before, and so he whipped out his Pokedex.
Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. It is docile and prefers to avoid conflict. If disturbed, however, it can ferociously strike back.
So if it's a fight you're looking for, I got one for ya.
He motioned Jake forward, the Houndour eager for battle. He hadn't faced against a trained Pokemon before, only wild, and so this was a milestone. Para wondered what the girl would do with the Pidgey. Hopefully it wouldn't fly off, because that would be trouble.

The girl would have a look of surprise when she was challenged to battle. It seemed she wasn't expecting that but after a second her expression would change to one of determination.
"You're ON!"
As soon as the last words were spoken Pidgey would begin kicking up sand. It had begun the battle on it's own with a sand attack. It was hoping to have the element of surprise--

You're on!
Ugh, little girls and their pep. The pidgey immediately began to kick up dirt, catching Jake off guard. The dirt flew through the air and bull's-eyed right into Jake's eyes. He whined, and shook his head with confusion. Para's heart fell a little, but he was not intimidated by any means. There was a single move that Jake knew that was his secret weapon. He wanted this to be over before it got ugly, and so he decided to draw upon this.
Alright Jake. Pulling out all the stops. Use Fire Blast!
Jake hesitated, looked at Para as if to ask if he heard him right, then turned back towards the Pidgey. Tears stung his eyes due to the dust, but that didn't stop him from knowing how to perform this move. He aimed his mouth at the Pidgey, pulled it up a little, and began to shoot a rain of fire towards the pidgey, doysing everything with fire.
Para was absolutly amazed by this move, it was nothing like had ever seen. He watched in bliss and pride as the fire shot out of Jake's mouth like a hoze. The fire turned the sky red, and it was amazing.
Para shed a single man-tear of pride.
