With Kong in tow, Shonkey ventured forth into route twenty-nine, plodding through the tall grasses. He looked excitedly around him, hoping to spot some new pokémon. His hands were in his pockets, with one resting on his pokédex. He wasn't going to forget to scan any pokémon, like he did with his first encounter, so he wasn't letting go of the device. Every so often, Kong would head off a bit to nibble on some grass, evidently loving the taste.
"Don't eat too much, my faithful sidekick. You'll make yourself sick..." Shonkey slowed his pace, so that his Kabuto could keep up with him, as the pair kept their eyes peeled for wild pokémon. Shonkey decided to take his free hand out of the pocket, and reach into his coat to withdraw his sketch pad. Along with scanning any pokémon they stumbled upon, he was planning on sketching as many as he could.
The sun had continued its ascent into the morning sky, giving off a pleasantly warm glow. Shonkey looked up momentarily to check what the weather looked like, happy to see there were no cloud masses nearby. "No rain... Good." Kong seemed a little sad at this prospect, as he quite enjoyed what little rain he had encountered in his life.

Zangoose Lv. 7
It was strange, for the Pokemon was suspecting rain to become part of the daily forecast but it would seem that his assumptions would be incorrect. Sighing to himself, the Zangoose would simply go amongst his own business until the flash of your white coat caught his attention. Peering from foliage, the Zangoose would simply watch you and your Pokemon's movements, determining whether or not investigation was in the picture.

Shonkey and Kong wandered about, in their ongoing search for pokémon. Suddenly, Shonkey spotted one! How thrilled he was that he could find one so quickly, though he supposed that was a normal thing when traversing through their habitats. Trying to decide whether he wanted to scan it first or sketch it first, Shonkey slowly walked up to the Zangoose. How rude it would have been to do either without first introducing himself!
"Hello, there. Hi. I'm Shonkey, and this is my assistant, Kong." He motioned to his Kabuto as if he were showing him off, before continuing. "Would you mind if I drew you and scanned you with my pokédex?" At this, he drew the pokédex out of his pocket and held them both slightly in the air, allowing the wild pokémon to see them. Kong had been standing behind Shonkey's left leg, peering out at the strange creature that stood before him.

Draw? The Zangoose would be confused at first however would oblige and would simply remain stationary as the Assistant Professor would proceed to sketch out his figure. The Zangoose was cognizant of the Ancient Pokemon that seemed to belong to this individual however hostilities would not be an issue for the Zangoose was not provoked in any way, shape or form.

Shonkey's tongue protruded a bit as if he were a Smeargle, as he furiously went to work on sketching the wild pokémon. After a few moments, he was finished and looked over his completed work, moving his eyes from the sketch pad to the Zangoose, then back to the sketch pad. A minor edit here and there, and he was satisfied with his art. He flipped the sketch pad around to face the drawing towards the muse, and he spoke.
"How do you like it? I think it looks just like you." The life-like drawing would hopefully please the Zangoose enough to not warrant a slash to Shonkey's face, at least. Kong had emerged from his 'safety net', inching towards the much larger pokémon, observing it as he slowly approached. At the first sign of agitation, the small ancient pokémon was ready to book it, back behind Shonkey's leg.
Shonkey used his thumb to open the pokédex one-handed as he continued to hold out the sketch pad for the Zangoose to see. He initiated the scan, allowing his pokédex to gather information on the cat-like creature. "Zangoose: The cat ferret pokémon. Its fur would all stand on end if it smelled a SEVIPER nearby. Its sharp claws tear up its foes. "

He had to admit, the drawing did look stunningly realistic as the Zangoose was expecting some crappy stick figure or anything of that sort. His light red optics would soften for a moment before he'd slowly nod his head. Still, he was confused as to why the individual was paying so much attention to him, maybe it'd be revealed in due time.

After a successful sketching and scanning, along with the Zangoose's approval of its rendition, Shonkey put his sketch pad and pokédex away. He reached back and, through no small feat, lifted Kong into his arms. He spoke to the wild pokémon as he held Kong in his arms, as a mother would her infant. "Kong and I are on an expedition of knowledge, traveling the known world in search of answers to life's most puzzling questions."
"I admit it will be no simple task to overcome, and Kong and I alone would have quite a trouble in overcoming the various obstacles that lay before us. Having such a powerful being as yourself as a member of our team would be most helpful, so I ask this of you: Would you like to be a part of our team?" If the Zangoose said 'no', Shonkey didn't really have an answer as to what his next step would be, so he was hoping the answer would be a yes...

The Zangoose thought momentarily before finally accepting your request. You can consider it, captured.

OoC: *blows raspberry at Kel!* ♪I'm beating you~♪ Shonkey immediately lit up at the Zangoose's reply. "Oh, wonderful news. I would have so hated a battle. I find pokémon battles to be rather barbaric..." With this said, he took out one of his pokéballs, and held it forward. "Of course, I'll have to officially capture you, but I won't make you stay in this ball." With that, the Zangoose understood and walked forward to touch the button on the pokéball, getting sucked into it. Without a single wobble of the ball, the pokémon was caught. Shonkey wasted no time in calling his new compadre out of her pokéball. "Welcome to the team!" He set Kong back onto the ground and encouraged the two to get to know each other better, as they continued onwards. The trio walked casually down the path, Shonkey keeping an eye out for more pokémon and Roxie and Kong making small talk between themselves. [RANDOM METHOD]

Treeko LV.7 Ah, how relaxing it was to bask within the sunlight, especially for a Grass Pokemon. As most knew, sunlight was one of the primary catalysts needed in order to perform photosynthesis and this reptile was not exempt to this rule. With eyelids shut, the Treeko would not be aware of the individuals within his general area and as such, it continued to rest without regards to the events that were to come.

Having spotted the wild gecko pokémon, Shonkey slowly crept closer, hoping to sketch it while it was in this relaxed and natural pose. He slowly drew out his sketch pad and pencil, flipping to a clean sheet. So far, it seemed he was successful in not alerting the Grass-type. He drew slowly, but extremely detailed, as this method would not make much noise. He looked up at the Treecko, then back at his sketch pad.
Almost done... "ZAN!" Upon noticing the basking pokémon, Roxie jumped forward, issuing a battle challenge. Shonkey nearly fell over as he realized he wouldn't be able to finish his sketch. He started to say something, but decided it would be best to let Roxie simply be Roxie. She rushed towards the Treecko with impressive speed, using Quick Attack to start things off.

The Treeko would be caught off guard with such a sudden attack however the distance between the two Pokemon would allow it ample time to react. Not dodging outright, it would side-step at a rather short distance once the Quick Attack was in striking range and immediately executed a Pound Attack, hoping to magnify the damage due to the speed at which the Zangoose was attacking.

Roxie almost didn't see the Pound attack coming, and she certainly didn't have enough time to dodge. Instead, the Treecko was able to pull off a successful Pound, nearly knocking Roxie to the ground. She was able to keep her footing, however, and began moving in for another attack. Shonkey decided it best to step in, before anyone got hurt any worse.
"Roxie, come back!" With that, the red laser of the pokéball shot out and engulfed the Zangoose, drawing her back into her ball. Shonkey could barely find the words to express how apologetic he really was, over Roxie's actions. "I'm terribly sorry for that. Roxie can be rather bold at times. You're not hurt, are you?" Kong was, of course, hiding behind Shonkey's legs. It didn't want to be on the tail end of any kind of retaliation the Treecko might have had planned.

Definitely confused, the Treeko would simply stare at you with wide yellow eyes as it listened to you speak. Answering your question, it would lightly shake its head as its expression would be of general confusion. It wonders what exactly you wanted in the first place.

"Good then..." Shonkey idly rubbed the back of his neck, a habit of embarrassment, no doubt. "I really am sorry that Roxie attacked you like that. It was quite uncouth, I'm sure..." He felt a need to make it up to this poor pokémon who had been so rudely interrupted by his own pokémon. Being struck with a thought, he opened the flap of his satchel and removed a scrumptious-looking rice ball from it.
A juicy plum was settled directly in the middle of it, and Shonkey help it out to the Treecko. "Here. Please take this as a peace offering. You must be hungry." Kong, seeing the delectable treat, tugged on Shonkey's pant leg, in an attempt to ask for one. Shonkey knew what Kong wanted and was happy to oblige. He pulled another one out and set it on the ground in front of Kong. Elated, the small pokémon scurried over to it and instantly began nomming the hell out of it. "BUTO!!"
